Miasteczko z zasady jest odrębną miejscowością. Na ziemiach polskich nie istniało rozróżnienie formalne między miastem i miasteczkiem, funkcjonowało ono natomiast na niektórych obszarach Rzeszy Niemieckiej (Flecken, Marktsiedlung - Stadt).
Town is always (ex definitione) a separate locality. On the Polish lands, there was no formal distinction between the city and the town, but such distinction was present in some areas of the German Reich (Flecken, Marktsiedlung - Stadt).
